My Favorite Colors

I’ve had lots of different favorite colors

Yellow was first

She was young and carefree

Representing my youth with her shiny all-consuming nature

Sunny and bright, forever catching my eye with her gleaming glow

Though as time went on, Yellow began to fade as it usually does and her brightness dimmed into a constant background glow

And now her shine seems to seep into my soul from time to time, reminding me of my easy and simple love of what had been but will never be…
